The ‘Autumn heats’ finals held on Sunday, at the Xhajma Race Track, were contested by the best horses on the island.

This meeting organised by Gozo Horse Racing Association once again attracted a good crowd that, who enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of racing and showed great appreciation at the outcome of the competition.

The Premier final was contested by five trotters and ‘Obelix Molgard’ under the guidance of Salvu Vella, managed to gain the best prize of the day. This horse of Malla Stables of Xewkija won also the ‘Pre-Season final’ earlier in September.Sunday’s programme included another two finals, the Silver class was won by ‘Record de Mexique’ (Marvin Cauchi). It is the second final won this season by this horse owned by Xiber Stables of Xewkija.In the ‘Bronze’ class, the horse ‘Banzai M.J.’ (Daniel Hili) managed to win this final in front of another ten contestants.

After each final, the President of Gozo Horse Racing Association, Mary Mifsud Micallef, presented cash gifts to the winners in the presence of owners, jockeys, handlers and supporters.These are the results of the other races:

Race 8 Winner: Obelix Molgard (Salvu Vella)
