The Victory Philharmonic Society of Xaghra, has announced that the feast of Saint Cecilia, Patron saint of musicians, will be celebrated in Xaghra by the Ghaqda Kazini tal-Banda, this coming Saturday, the 29th of November.

There will be a Mass with homily at 6.30pm, presided by H.L. Bishop Mario Grech at the Collegiate Basilica and Sanctuary of the Nativity of Our Lady in Xaghra, Gozo.

Mass will be animated by the Nativitas Choir accompanied on the organ and directed by Mro. Ivan Attard. Members from different bands in Gozo will be present. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Cecilia is one of the most famous of the Roman martyrs, even if the familiar stories about her are apparently not founded on authentic material.

Her liturgical feast day is traditionally celebrated annually by the Roman Catholic Church on the 22nd of November.
