Jum ix-Xewkija festivities, were organised recently by the Xewkija Local Council. The main event was a traditional musical programme held in Teatru Govanni – Local Parish Centre.

During the evening Mikelangelo Camilleri was presented with the Gieh ix-Xewkija Award by the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, for his contribution to the village. The event was also attended by the Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo.The audience were entertained with a musical programme performed by the Banda Prekursur, there was also book giving to Gozo College Xewkija Primary students.

Speeches was made for the occasion by both the President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and the Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo.
