The Gozo University Group has said in a statement that it welcomes the promotional project for Gozo worth €227,000 announced last week.

“The project will look to project this island as a ‘distinct destination,’ therefore increasing the potential of job opportunities and stability” GUG said.

“The island of Gozo is looking to be advertised internationally, increasing its visibility as a touristic attraction while highlighting its undeniable charm,”

The University Group said “this will of great benefit to tourism on the island, since Gozo won’t be advertised as an ancillary island but rather as a destination of its own. This will definitely increase exponentially the number of tourists coming to Gozo.”

GUG concluded by saying that is has always believed that “the way forward for Gozo is to promote the island as more than just the quiet island it is, but rather as an island full of potential and possibilities.”
