The Gozo Ministry in a statement this evening, condemned the bomb threat made on Gozo Channel ferries. “These threats are very harmful to the economy,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry was responding to an incident earlier this evening when two Gozo ferries were evacuated following a bomb threat.
The Police received a phone call claiming that a bomb had been placed on one of the Gozo ferries.
Passengers on ferries that were due to leave from both Mgarr and Cirkewwa had to be evacuated, in order for police and bomb disposal experts to search the ferries. Gozo Channel suspended all services, for the time but were resumed to normal services later.
The Ministry stated that it urges that investigations are taken seriously and that justice is carried out on those who are caught.
