The Maltese Council for Sport has said that it is committed to help sports associations/federations and athletes reach their professional level in their field.

This is achieved not only with the programmes offered by KMS, but also with grant assistance through various schemes, it said.

19 groups have benefited from grants from KMS which will enable them to cover capital expenditure, purchase technical equipment, invest in their facilities, a scheme to allow them to participate in international competitions, organise sports tourism and schemes for the development of athletes.

The grants were awarded by the Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport Chris Agius together with the Chairman of the Maltese Council for Sport Luciano Busuttil.
