Last month Google revealed its “Year in Search” for 2014, including most searched-for holiday destinations.
Gozo is first in the top ten destinations most searched for on Google by Italians, six of the locations are located in Italy.
The Italian travel search engine liligo.com described Gozo as having, “a mild climate all year round, beautiful beaches, excellent reception accommodation, an important artistic heritage, geographical proximity are what makes the Maltese archipelago a favourite destination for Italian tourists all year round.”
“This is confirmed by the Google trends 2014 results which shows that Gozo, the second island of the archipelago, is first place among the most sought after travel destinations by Italian tourists,” liligo.com said.
