Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Stefan Buontempo, has today launched the first of a series of initiatives on the theme ‘More services for our communities.’

He explained that during this first imitative Local Councils which took part in the influenza vaccination scheme would be refunded for expenses incurred.

This reimbursement of expenses will be made for the first time and its ultimate goal is incentivise Local Councils to offer more services to communities in Malta and Gozo, Stefan Buontempo said.

The financial assistance will be given to Local Councils to cover the service of nurses and advertising, among others.

Parliamentary Secretary Stefan Buontempo, also spoke about another new service that is to be provided by Local Councils offices. This is the distribution of vouchers for all those who need gluten free products.
