Today, SHout – Spring Hunting Out campaign welcomed Mgr Scicluna’s comments in some media, on his position against Spring Hunting. Romina Tolu, SHout campaign coordinator commented, “Mgr Scicluna’s position that hunting should not occur during the breeding season is exactly what this is all about.”

She added, “targeting birds on their way to breed is not sustainable and will only increase the decline of the Turtle Dove and Quail in Europe.”

SHout stated, “Last October Mgr Scicluna joined a number of birdwatchers in Buskett to condemn violence against birdwatchers, where he had said, “I encourage people to appreciate nature as God’s gift, take care of it and enjoy it so that the heritage of nature will continue in time.” Yesterday evening Mgr Scicluna confirmed his commitment to nature, and to sustainability.”

Tolu added, “it is very encouraging to see more people voice their support for the No campaign publicly, especially those who are in the public eye.”

The SHout campaign encourages people to speak out against spring hunting, and to join SHout on social media.
