A blood donation session was held on Sunday in the Outpatients Department, of the Gozo General Hospital, as part of its Open Day activities.

HE Mgr. Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo, paid a visit to the Department during the session to honour those blood donors present, as well as recognise the wonderful gesture of Mons. Salv Grima, a priest from Nadur, who has donated blood 128 times.

In the presence of Dr. Nadine Delicata, CEO of the Gozo General Hospital, and Mr Tony Micallef, Donor Liaison Nurse within the National Blood Transfusion Service, Bishop Mgr Grech made a presentation to Mgr Grima as a gesture of appreciation.

The Bishop said that “this year, Mgr. Salv Grima celebrates 128 donations of blood. I congratulate him for the generosity that he has shown, which is in addition to an act of charity, is also evidence of a priestly way of living the Eucharist.”
