Further fuel price reductions to be announced next month – Mizzi

At a meeting of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development MCESD held this morning, the social partners discussed the prices of fuels and the Government’s plans in this area.

Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi, said that the political stability in fuel prices will continue and that prices will therefore be adjusted in the coming months, with Enemed passing lower prices for fuels on to the consumers, with further reductions to be announced next month and in April.

He explained that today’s meeting is part of an ongoing exercise where the Government meets the constituted bodies to discuss matters concerning the economic activity of the country.

Through the investment in energy new distribution stations would be built at Manoel Island
and St Andrews, the Minister said.

Minister Konrad Mizzi stated that the shifting all power distribution to Delimara will commence in the coming weeks, testing of the Malta-Sicily inter connector has started and foundations for the Delimara quay are to begin to be laid in April.
