Year 5 & 6 students have been taking part in an education event, which was started in April at the Education, Science and Culture Centre in the Lunzjata Valley, as part of UNESCO’s World Art Day 2015. It consisted of an eco-art event with a multi-media approach coordinated by the Gozo College art peripatetic teachers.The students’ work was finalised in class, and then displayed together at an exhibition held on Friday at the Lunzjata Centre’s hall, on the occasion of UNESCO’s World Environment Day.

This special event included student participation with singing etc and was attended by the Minister for Gozo, Dr Anton Refalo.

Twelve pieces of art will also be selected to be compiled in a special 2016 calendar which will be printed by the Office of Malta’s Permanent Delegation to UNESCO to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Malta’s membership in the Associated Schools Project Network (1966 – 2016).

The calendar will be presented to UNESCO’s Director General, HE Madame Irina Bokova, during her official visit to Malta and Gozo next October.
