This hub will be training persons with disability to help them in their daily activities, as well as assisting them in their introduction to the employment sector.
Dr Caruana spoke about the the 80 job opportunities which will be created in Gozo for persons with disability. In this way the Government will be keeping its pledge on work in Gozo for the Gozitans, in this case, for persons with disability as well.
She concluded her speech by giving special thanks to the Malta Communications Authority, the Gozo Association for the Deaf and all of those who participated in this training programme, adding that she was confident that other such projects will be announced in the near future.
Roderick Marmara, representative of the Malta Communications Authority, said that it is important that everyone is given chance to improve his/her basic skills in the ICT sector, in particular persons with disability.
“Thanks to this equipment people can participate in the best way, not only in community activities, but also in employment opportunities. This is of great benefit as it gives them more independence and empowers the concept of inclusion in society.”
