Eat Fresh Fish Campaign – Gozo roadshow event is being held for all primary schools (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) next Monday, the 8th of June 2015 at the Gozo College Boys Secondary School, in Victoria.

The roadshow campaign is aimed at promoting the benefits of eating fresh fish as part of a healthy diet.

The Eat Fresh Fish trailer is visiting a number of schools and different locations through road shows and fish fairs around the Maltese islands, and now it is the turn of school students in Gozo!

The events taking place during the awareness campaign will consist of a play for the pupils at the GC Boys Secondary School and an outside activity where children will be encouraged to taste different Mediterranean non conventional fish.

A USB will be given to all participating students. Each school will be given 10 CD’s with info about fish. Kindergarten, Year 1 and 2 pupils of participating schools will be given a puzzle each.

This activity, aimed for students in Gozo, forms part of an ongoing EU co-funded project. This Eat Fresh Fish project is led by the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture and supported by relevant stakeholders and project partners such as Ghaqda Koperattiva tas-Sajd, the Malta Chef Society, St. Peter Foundation, the Fishing Trawlers Association, fish4tomorrow, the Federation of Maltese Aquaculture Producers and Kooperattiva Nazzjonali tas-Sajd. The campaign is co-financed at 75% EU Funds and 25% National Funds.
