A 22-year-old Polish man is in a critical condition following injuries suffered after he jumped from the Azure Window in Dwejra, Gozo today at about 11.45am.

Preliminary investigations by the Police from the Victoria Police Station and the Mobile Squad found that the man had jumped from the Azure Window and was calling out for help when he injured himself. The young man was assisted by people in the area who contacted the emergency services.

The victim was rushed to the Gozo General Hospital by ambulance and was later certified to be in a critical condition.

Duty Magistrate appointed an inquiry into the case.
