World Tourism Day events taking place in Marsalforn tomorrow

Each year on the 27th of September, the purpose of World Tourism Day is to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic values.
Together with the rest of the world where tourism is recognised as an industry, the Ministry for Tourism and the Malta Tourism Authority will be organising a series of events to mark World Tourism Day.
In Gozo, tomorrow, Saturday the 26th of September there will be a Fashion Show & Flamenco Dance with Ghana la Bormliza, starting at 8.00pm and an Artisan Fair at 6.30pm, these events are taking place at Triq il-Port, Marsalforn.
Also tomorrow there is a Seabed Clean-Up at various dive sites in Gozo and Malta.
The theme chosen by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation for this year is One Billion Tourists – One Billion Opportunities. This theme will reflect on the importance of tourism both as a commercial opportunity as well as a cultural opportunity.
On Sunday, Heritage Malta is offering a comprehensive day ticket to all Heritage Malta sites and museums at a cost of €5.00 (excluding the Hypogeum Palace State Rooms and Tarxien Temples) for more information please see http://www.heritagemalta.org/.
