On the first day of school, the Gozo College Ghajnsielem Primary, started the 2015-2016 scholastic year by attending morning Mass at Ghajnsielem Parish Church. Parents and relatives were also invited to attend.
At the end of Mass, the Archpriest, blessed the children together with their school bags. as well as all school staff to start the new scholastic year with God’s Blessings.

There is no better way to start the scholastic year than with active participation in the Sacrifice of the Mass. Today when anything that is sacred is being marginalised or directly opposed, it is important that we should, more than ever before, cherish this good practice. We must not allow the hidden hand of paganism continue to harm our national Catholic way of life.
It has been suggested that, when most of Malta was (unwillingly) practising Islam (towards the end of the first millennium), Gozo stood firmly in the Catholic Faith and that this holy firmness of the Gozitans ensured the continuity of Catholicism in the Maltese Islands. If Gozo could do it then, it can now also (hopefully) lead the way against the present systematic erosion of our Catholic values.
