Gozo College Kercem Primary has done it again! Following last May's successful event 'Jam-it for Puttinu,' when the school raised €1000 for Puttinu, the staff at the school came up with another fundraising idea.

This time the school produced, advertised and sold over 1000 jars of lemon cough syrup to raise the wonderful amount of €3130 which was donated to the Puttinu Foundation.

The Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo paid a visit to the school during the day of activities in schools across the island for World Children's Day.The school said that this was no easy task, however many were ready to lend a hand either by donating lemons, sponsoring some of the expenses, and of course the daunting task of squeezing all the 380kg of lemons!

"Besides helping children in need, activities such as these teach children the value of solidarity."
