In reaction to the setting up of a new Front in favour of a tunnel between Malta and Gozo, Front Harsien ODZ has said today that "it is important that civil society engages in dialogue on such important issues."
Front Harsien ODZ stated that, "for this very reason the Front believes that the tunnel proposal requires comprehensive studies and impact assessments that cover ecological, geological, economic, social, and other factors before being rendered into a populist issue with lack of evidence that backs up its viability and sustainability."
"Studies should also assess carbon footprint of tunnel compared to ferry service as well as impacts on existing road network in Gozo and Malta," concluded Front Harsien ODZ.
