60 people in Gozo registered for work during July

The latest data from the National Statistics Office show that there were 60 people registering for work in Gozo during July, this was up 2 on the same month last year and down from 61 in June.
Of the 60 seeking employment, there were 38 males and 22 females. Last year the breakdown was 30 males and 28 females.
The highest age group seeking employment in Gozo were those aged 45 and over, with 24 looking for work – 14 males and 10 females. This was followed by the 30-44 age group, with 23 looking for work – 14 males and 9 females.
On a national level, the NSO noted that the number of registered unemployed in July 2023 decreased by 32 persons over July 2022 levels.
Males accounted for 69.5% of total registrants while females accounted for the remaining 30.5%.
Decreases in the registered unemployment levels were recorded in the majority of the age groups.
A minimal increase (one person) was recorded among persons with a disability registering for work.
The NSO also noted that clerical support jobs were the most common occupations sought by the registered unemployed.
