L-Istrina, charity events in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund, set a new record on Boxing Day, raising over €4 million during the twelve hour telethon, generously donated by the people of Gozo and Malta.

"Faith, Hope and Charity" was the campaign theme for this year, and the final sum was announced by President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, who thanked everyone, adding that such generosity fuelled her with energy.
