A 22-year old man from Zabbar has appeared in the Gozo Court after being arrested at the Nadur Carnival on Saturday evening.
He appeared before Magistrate J Vella Cuschieri on Sunday morning, accused of having attacked and violently resisted a Police Sergeant and Constable, as well as disobeying legitimate orders.
The man was also accused of breaching public peace and breaching the conditions imposed on him by the Magistrate's Court in Malta. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The accused was granted bail on a deposit of €500 and a personal guarantee of €5,000.
The prosecution was led by Police Inspector Bernard Charles Spiteri.
