This year, as in previous years, the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps of Gozo said that they were entrusted with the provision of ambulance and first aid service during all Nadur Carnival Festivities.

Nadur Carnival attracts more than 30,000 people, mostly Maltese residents who travel from Malta to spend a weekend in Gozo.

The Emergency Response and Rescue Corps volunteers assisted 19 persons at Nadur Carnival. The majority suffered of minor bleeding and cuts, others where treated for excessive consumption of alcohol, while there was a case of a suspected spinal injury.

Most of them were treated at ERRC’s temporary clinic at Nadur Square while others were transported to the Gozo General Hospital for further assistance.

The Emergency Response and Rescue Corps also assisted during the Carnival Activities in Xewkija and Victoria.

The ERRC thanked the Nadur Local Council, the Gozo General Hospital, Transport Malta Officers and the Malta Police for their support.
