Front Favur Il-Mina, has said that it notes with satisfaction GRTU's comments about the tunnel between Malta and Gozo. "This continues to show the need for a holistic plan for Gozo, to increase accessibility between the islands," the Front said.
The GRTU Malta Chamber for SMEs said earlier today that it considers a permanent link between Malta and Gozo "as imperative to revitalise and regenerate Gozo in both economic and social terms."
The GRTU also pointed out that, "Gozo's challenges have been flagged time and time again, and its double insularity renders a clear negative handicap for foreign direct investment, as it gives investors countless reasons to be reluctant to station business on the sister island."
Front Favur Il-Mina, in its statement said that it believes that the tunnel project is to be part of series of initiatives to reduce Gozo's double insularity. It stressed that all environmental and geological studies should be carried out without further delay.
The GRTU now joins the list of other organisations supporting Front Favur Il-Mina, including: GBC, GUG, GWU, MUT, MZPN, PULSE. SDM and UHM.
