Gozo Motocross Association organised its 9th calendar event of the 2015/16 season. The 5th Round of the Gozo Motocross Championship took place under a clear blue sky and fairly strong winds.

The large crowd of motocross fans were treated to an exciting afternoon of racing, as Mario Cauchi and Etienne Bigeni fought a challenging ride in Class A, with the two riders now finding themselves facing a narrowing gap of Motocross Championship points between them. Etienne won first place in two of the three heats, while Mario won the last heat. Therefore Bigeni was awarded first trophy of the day, while Mario followed closely in second place. Brothers Robert and Samuel Spiteri put on an extremely courageous show and came in third and fourth respectively.In Class B Matthew Zammit came in first, followed by Anthony Fenech. Nathaniel Camilleri came in third. Jorn Stellini held on tightly to his first place in Class C. Josef Camilleri fought very hard for second place, while Raymond Caruana was placed third. Gozo Motocross Association also announced the date for the Quarter Finals of the Championship, which will take place on the 17th of April, at Ta' Xhajma Track, followed by a Gozo Enduro Rally on the 7th of May and Motocross Championship Semi-Finals on the 8th of May.

The latter both being part of the Gozo Sports Festival, organised by the Gozo Sports Board, in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo. More information is to be found on the Gozo Motocross Association facebook page.
