This week Health Minister Chris Fearne visited the Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, as well as Harvard teaching hospitals Massachusetts General, Spalding and Brigham, and women's hospitals.

These teaching hospitals are run by Partners Health Care. Partners will be joining Vitals Global Healthcare in helping the Government of Malta in building a new hospital and a medical school in Gozo and in the upgrading of Karin Grech and St Luke's hospitals.

Massachusetts General Hospital has consistently been voted the number one hospital in the USA, whilst Harvard Medical School is recognised as the number one medical school.

The Health Minister discussed how best to use Partner's Health Care's recourses and expertise to help in increasing the standards of health services in Malta and Gozo.

He said that Partner's Healthcare International has ample experience in working with local entities across the globe, from Japan to Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. Research collaboration between Harvard and Malta's academic institutions was also discussed.
