Following the publication of its prospectus for the academic year 2016/2017 at the beginning of May this year, the Institute of Tourism Studies announces that it will be holding a number of information sessions for interested and prospective studies.

These sessions, which will be held at ITS between the 28th July and 1st August, will give students the opportunity to understand better which courses to follow at ITS to start on the path of their chosen career in the tourism industry.

The new prospectus consolidates on the changes made last year to ensure the curriculum and study programmes at ITS are much more student friendly and match the demands of the tourism industry as from a structural point of view, the Institute goes through the planning process towards the proposed new campus at Smart City.

ITS Board of Governors Chairman Paulino Schembri said, "the Board of Governors is proud to be part of this very exciting time when the ITS is launching new programmes and also working towards the relocation of the ITS to the new campus in the near future."

"The new modular structure built into our programmes, allows for different entry points thus making ITS accessible to all. The future is exciting for students at ITS, as in the very near the Institute will offer programmes of study that will give students the opportunity to graduate with a bachelor and a master's degree in tourism and hospitality related subjects, thus advance to the levels of excellence required by our tourism industry," he added.

ITS Executive Director Pierre Fenech said, "the comments from current students on the curricular changes has been encouraging. This gives us more will to continue evolving our curriculum in constant consultation with the main stakeholders, mainly, the academics, the industry and the students themselves."

"We will not only continue to develop better quality courses, but we are now looking at increasing the spectrum of courses both horizontally and also vertically. We will be launching in the coming years, courses in new sectors of the Hospitality and Tourism Industry and also for the first time, we will soon be launching Bachelors and Masters Degrees for all our prospecting students."

A printed copy of the prospectus can also be obtained by contacting the Registrar's Office at the Institute of Tourism Studies main campus in St George's Bay, St Julians.
