The Gozo Youth Council, in a statement today said that it believes in a sustainable future for Gozo and the Gozitans "and thus investment in Gozo's accessibility is crucial."
The GYC stated, the investment in an airstrip in Gozo is a good infrastructural investment not only for Gozo as a region but also for Malta as a nation. "This would offer the possibility of opening direct routes to the island from various countries in the region."
Gozo's accessibility should also be strengthened with the introduction of a fast-ferry service between the two islands and with the investment of a strong fibre optic link between the two islands, added the Gozo Youth Council.
The GYC is urging politicians "to start taking decisions that purport to Gozo's long-term future prospects."
The Gozo Youth Council is an independent umbrella organisation that gathers the youths and youth organisations present in the island region of Gozo.
