Malta Cricket League: Marsa surge ahead with victory over Melita

Marsa CC 138 for 3 defeated Melita CC 136 for 8 – Kalki Kumar steered Marsa to victory with a destructive innings of 48 off only 30 balls while Bikram Arora took over as League top run scorer with an unbeaten 31.

For Melita, it was the League's leading bowler Justin Farrin-Thorne with 1 wicket for 21. Earlier, Melita reached a respectable 138 runs from their allotted 25 overs led by Frank Spiteri (37). The wickets were shared among the Marsa bowlers but Vignesh Boopathi took the honours with 2 wickets for 10 from his 2 overs.

Krishna CC 157 for 7 defeated Malta Marauders CC 130 all out – Niraj Khanna (44), Amar Gorania (29) and Nowell Khosla (25) were the mainstays in Marsa's winning total of 157. For Marauders, Sean Byrne took 4 wickets, including 2 catches.

In reply, Marauders were on track with 42 runs required off the last 7 overs but Joy Ghoseroy's leg spin put pay to their chances as he finished with a remarkable 4 wickets for 5 runs. Andrew Naudi top scored for Marauders with 35.
