Utility tariffs protest moved to Friday – All trade unions to now take part

Utility tariffs demonstration The protest against the utility tariffs and the budget, which was scheduled to be held on Thursday by the GWU has now, for logistical reasons, been moved to Friday at 5.30pm.

All the trade unions have announced that they will now be taking part in the protest, pointing out that this would be an historic occasion in that all the unions would be joining forces for the first time.

The announcement was made at a joint press conference which was held this afternoon, present at thepress conference were senior officials of the CMTU, the GWU, UHM, MUMN, MUT and the UHM.

Alternattiva Demokratika had previously announced that they would be supporting the protest, several other organisations, including the Labour Party, have also indicated that they will be supporting the protest.
