Local residents have become concerned about the welfare of the ducks in a Xaghra water culvert. They have been without water for some considerable time as the last remaining source dried up in the hot weather, so the forecast for possible showers in the next 24 hours is very welcome. It is understood that Animal Welfare authorities have been made aware of their plight, and the hope now is that they will receive some help in time.
