The Malta Tourism Authority has launched a professional traineeship consisting of a work-based learning activity on how to increase sales, for owners and key staff of restaurants in Gozo and Malta. This is the first time that such a traineeship is taking place.
Through this work-based learning activity all successful participants will learn how to increase their sales through better and more effective use of their website.
The professional traineeship, fully funded through Erasmus+, will take place in Rome over a one-week period with the first intake leaving Malta on Sunday, the 20th of November and returning on Saturday, the the 26th of November 2016. The second intake will be leaving Malta on the 22nd of January and return on the 28th of January 2017.
There will be a total of 4 intakes over a two-year period, each catering for 12 persons, the MTA said.
All participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and know-how in the following areas: positioning their web site among the first search results on Google pages; increasing contacts and online sales, creating effective pay per click campaigns, using Facebook and Instagram to increase business and to sustain a better image of their businesses.
Paul Bugeja CEO noted that MTA is very satisfied in having tapped this opportunity for the benefit of our Gozo and Malta restaurants, an opportunity which should increase quality in all the activities that these restaurants would undertake.
