October is known as the global month for Breast Cancer Awareness and is marked in countries across the world. It helps to increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and treatment as well as palliative care of this disease.

In Gozo, a Breast Cancer Seminar – From research to diagnosis and care, is being held on Saturday, the 15th of October, organised by the Health Promotion Unit within the Gozo General Hospital and Europa Donna Malta.

The general public is invited to the seminar which will be addressing:

Pathology behind breast cancer

Surgical interventions in breast cancer

Physiotherapy management in breast cancer patients

The role of the breast care nurse

Current research in breast cancer

The seminar is taking place at the Hotel Ta' Cenc, Sannat between 8.30am and noon
