The annual Maltese Lace Competition Exhibition was held on Saturday at the Malta Parliament building.
In this exhibition and competition 5 students participated who had attended a lace making course organised by the Zebbug Local Council, Gozo, during the summer months.
On the initiative of their teacher Ms Marian Buttigieg, they took their completed work to the event. These students – Christine Galea, Abigail Borg, Josianne Cauchi, Elizabeth Farrugia and Martha Farrugia, were all given awards and encouraged to continue and learn this traditional craft.
The Zebbug Local Council gave their congratulations to the children on their success and encouraged them to continue learning the craft. The Council also encouraged other children to follow their example.
