100,000 people have visited the Cittadella Visitors' Centre in the first three and a half months since its inauguration by the Prime Minister, making it one of the main attractions in Gozo, the Ministry for Gozo said today.

A very interesting audio-visual presentation gives visitors a better understanding of the history and of what they will be seeing as they walk around the Citadel. 100,000 people visit the Cittadella Visitors' Centre since openingThe Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo visited the Centre on the day that marked the 100,000th visitor and thanked all employees responsible for managing the Citadel and the Centre.

He explained that recently, the Cittadella Visitors' Centre featured prominently in AV Magazine, a magazine published in London that focuses on the latest developments in the field of audio-visual systems technology.

Dr Refalo added that also this year, the Centre and architect Martin Xuereb, have been granted two awards from Malta Architect Awards. These single honours are the Award for Rehabilitation & Conservation Projects and Award for Public Buildings, and recognise the best architectural designs in Malta and Gozo in order to inspire and influence key stakeholders of the industry in the Maltese Islands to create structures to beautify not revoke the environment.
