Following the success of last year, Parliamentary Secretary Roderick Galdes, this morning launched the Animal Welfare Fund for 2016 during a press conference at the Noah's Ark Sanctuary.

The Parliamentary Secretary said that €50,000 has been allocated this year, to be distributed among non-governmental organisations and animal shelters in order to carry out projects in their sanctuaries. All this is done to ensure the protection of animals and enhance care and animal rehabilitation, he said.

Parliamentary Secretary Roderick Galdes concluded by saying that, while last year there were eight applications accepted from the eleven that were put forward, this year there are twelve applications until now, and it seems that all will be accepted.
