Zminijietna – Voice of the Left, has said that it is highly concerned with the increase in the prices for renting a property, affecting mostly those on low and middle-low income earners.

“Parliament should start discussing this matter, in order to strengthen social justice and housing equality, eradicate property speculation and greed, introduce measures to push forward the concept of progressive taxation on vacant properties and to regulate the property and renting sector,” stated Zminijietna – Voice of the Left.

It added that “Government’s subsidy alone is not enough to fight speculation. Other measures, such as rent regulation should form part of this national debate.”
