Evarist Bartolo, Minister for Education and Employment, presided the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council meeting on Friday.

During the meeting Ministers underlined that the economic, social and employment situation in the Union has improved, but that more efforts are needed to continue to address the challenges that EU citizens face.

Ministers also highlighted the need to invest in skills, education and life-long learning, and to ensure the labour-market integration of youth, the elderly and the long-term unemployed.
