In January 2017, seasonally adjusted industrial production decreased by 1.5 per cent over the previous month, the National Statistics Office said today. It added that when compared to January 2016, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went up by 4.8 per cent.

Decreases were mainly registered in the production of capital goods (4.9 per cent). On the other hand, the production of energy, intermediate goods and consumer goods went up by 3.2, 1.4 and 0.4 per cent respectively.

When compared to January 2016, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went up by 4.8 per cent. Increases were registered in the production of intermediate goods (13.7 per cent), energy (9.0 per cent) and consumer goods (1.0 per cent).

On the other hand, the production of capital goods went down by 2.6 per cent.
