Sunny skies and exciting racing for 5th round of the Motocross Championship

On Sunday, the Gozo Motocross Association organised the 5th round of the Yamaha Gozo Motocross Championship 2016/17 at Ta’ Xhajma Track.
Excitement and anticipation where the order of the day as riders raced in perfect conditions, with clear sunny skies.
In Class A, Mario Cauchi achieved maximum points as he held on fast to first position in all three heats. He was followed by Joseph Bigeni on a Kawasaki KX 250cc. Robert Spiteri came in third.
Despite a minor incident Nataniel Camilleri managed to place second in Class B followed by Godfrey Bigeni. Keith Bugeja won this category on a Yamaha YZF 250cc.
Joseph Luke Gauci was challenged by Anthony Fenech who ultimately ended in first place in Class C, while Gauci came in third. The young Matthew Spiteri showed great stamina as he challenged the older riders on his Honda CR80cc and won second place.
Vice president Jesmond Bigeni presented trophies to the winners.
Gozo Motocross Association has announced that the next event will be another FunRace which will take place on Sunday, the 19th of March, at Ta’ Xhajma Track Races start at 1pm.
The Association said that it encourages and welcomes new riders.
