Last night the Leone Band held held its traditional Festa Concert in Republic Street, Victoria, as part of the celebrations for the Feast of Santa Marija.

There was a large appreciative audience for the concert, which was attended by the Minister for Gozo, Dr Justyne Caruana.

The celebrations continue on Friday and the programme for the external celebrations for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, will be as follows:

Friday

At 9:30pm: The Leone Band will parade the Santa Marija statue from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Divine Grace, to the Leone Band Club in Republic Street.

The evening closes as the statue ascends on to the plinth to popular marches and fireworks at midnight.

Saturday

At 9:30pm: Band march by the Leone Band and the Beland Band of Zejtun, departing from Savina Square towards St Ursola Street.

There will be youths party all the way through Republic Street. The evening ends with a street party in front of the Leone Band Club.

Sunday

At 9:30pm: There will be a march by the Leone Band and the Santa Marija Band of Zebbug, along the streets of the centre of Victoria with a Santa Marija statue.

The evening will come to a close as the statue ascends on to the plinth to popular marches and fireworks after midnight in Independence Square.

Meanwhile St Gregory Band of Kercem will performs band marches in Republic Street.
