Gozo Police said, their officers were called late last night to assist an elderly man in Triq Borg Geritu, Victoria, Gozo.

They will called to the location at around 11.00pm, and found an 80-year-old man, who is believed to have fallen, lying on the pavement.

He was taken to Gozo General Hospital, where his injuries were found to be serious.

A Magisterial Inquiry was appointed into the case, Police investigations are still ongoing.
