The sorting and counting of coins collected through the L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank Campaign is currently underway at the Bank of Valletta’s Head Office.

President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, accompanied by her husband Edgar Preca, visited BOV to watch the process and were greeted by the Bank’s Chairman Mr Deo Scerri and the Chief Executive Officer Mr Mario Mallia.

“The L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank Campaign -now in its 14th edition, is a close collaboration between the Bank and the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation and over €1.3 million has been presented to L-Istrina since it was launched,.” said Mr Scerri.

BOV employees and MCCFF volunteers are now working together as they sort the donations collected from every Primary and Secondary school across Malta and Gozo.

The President urged everyone to tune in to L-Istrina on the 26th December, and participate in this annual celebration of solidarity, “so as to raise the much needed funds for the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation to continue supporting those among us that are going through difficult times.”

The final sum collected through the L-Istrina BOV Piggy Bank campaign will be presented to the President during the live broadcast of L-Istrina on the 26th of December.
