A reminder that tomorrow in Gozo there is a blood donation session at the Gozo General Hospital.

The National Blood Transfusion Service needs donations of 50 bags a day to meet the demands of the hospitals, however there is currently a shortage of blood, with demand increasing and fewer people donating because of the this winter’s outbreak of flu.

Type O Positive is needed in particular, the Service is therefore inviting the public in Gozo to donate blood during a session being held at the Gozo General Hospital Outpatients Department, tomorrow, Tuesday, the 13th of February, between 1:00pm and 5:00pm – last registration is 5:00pm.

It is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.
