The BOV GFA Player of the Month for February, has been announced as Ghajnsielem FC youngster Alberto Xuereb.

Xuereb, who is 20-years old, is a product of the Ghajnsielem nursery and has risen in the club’s age groups through to the senior team.

7 points in 3 matches were obtained by Ghajnsielem during February, and this positive series moved them away from the relegation zone.

Alberto scored the winning goal in Ghajnsielem’s 2-1 win over SK Victoria Wanderers and also added his name to the scoresheet in their 3-3 draw against Kercem Ajax.

The club said that he is a very versatile player and although best attributed towards midfield play, he is very effective in attack and falls back when his services are needed.

Ghajnsielem had a slow start to the season in the GFA league but are still in the running for the BOV GFA Cup and the MFA Knockout competition.

Executive – Gozo Region at Bank of Valletta Horace Laudi, presented the trophy to Xuereb who chose the Arka Foundation to benefit from the donation associated with this award.
