Victory for residents of Munxar as proposed manure clamp rejectedMunxar Nationalist Party councillors, Damien Spiteri and Paul Curmi, in a joint statement, have welcomed the outcome of the vote taken earlier today at the Planning Authority, regarding the manure clamp which was proposed for Munxar.

They said that this vote against “saved the ruin of this village,” adding that, “they are are proud that their pressure and work brought about the desired results”.

The Nationalist councillors stated that their arguments against the manure clamp “were based solely on the welfare of local residents and because of this it resulted in Munxar being as one voice on this issue.” They thanked all those who worked side by side with them during this time.

They concluded by thanking those residents and Nationalist MP Chris Said, who this morning attended the hearing for the application, as well as members of the Board of the Planning Authority who put forward arguments against this application and eventually voted against it, including the representative of the opposition on this board Marthese Portelli.
