Two women were taken to the Gozo General Hospital this morning after they were hit by a reversing car in Republic Street, Victoria.

Police said that the accident happened at about 11.30am, when a 26-year old woman from Victoria was reversing her Toyota Aygo car and hit the two women.

An 84-year old from Qala was slightly injured and a 67-year old woman from Xaghra suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
