The Minister for Gozo Dr Justyne Caruana, has launched the Leone Grand Christmas Show, featuring the Leone Band, Aurora Youth Choir, singers and dancers, in a Christmas variety show for all the family in Gozo.

The Aurora Theatre in Victoria is the venue for this festive show – a cross between a musical concert, talent exposé and a game show.

Dr Caruana said that this year the Ministry has increased the number of activities in Gozo and spread them across the island to ensure that every village joins in the festivities and celebrations for this joyous season, and all organised under the umbrella of Christmas in Gozo.

The Minister congratulated the Aurora in the organisation of this show, pointing out that such activities continue to promote the island culture, as well as providing the opportunity for young people to showcase their talents.

Dr Michael Caruana, President of the Leone Philharmonic Society, said that this show combines all the elements within the Leone Society. He thanked the Ministry for Gozo for its ongoing support, not only for this activity, but throughout the year.

The Society explained that this year’s grand Christmas variety at the Aurora takes on the form of a game show with live music and dance.

The Leone Band, will be directed by Colin Attard, with the Aurora Youth Choir, as well as Gozitan talent Sarah Bonnici and Denise Mercieca, Dance Narratives and the Centre Stage Dance Academy. Around 100 young people and children are expected to participate.

The Aurora Opera House, together with the administration of the Leone Philharmonic Society welcome everyone to attend this annual, Christmas show.

The Leone Grand Christmas Show is this Sunday, the 23rd of December and starts at 4pm. Doors will be open from 3.30pm onwards. Tickets are €5 each and can be purchased online by clicking here.
