On Sunday, a FunRace was held at Ta’ Xhajma Motocross track, with both riders and spectators caught in a bracing, bitter cold wind, accompanied by beautiful, bright, Gozitan sunshine.

Organised by the Gozo Motocross Association, the afternoon proved great entertainment for competitors and their fans, with riders donning Christmas hats over their helmets, for the racing, if they could keep them on in the wind……A rider reshuffle took place in all of the classes and the results are as follows:

Class C:

1st place – Steve Cassar

2nd place – Anthony Fenech

3rd place – Jurgen Attard

Class B:- 2 stroke engine

1st place – Etienne Bigeni

2nd place – Glenn Vella

3rd place – Isaac Bartolo

Class A had the very top riders participating with 80cc and 125cc bikes:

1st place – Glenn Vella

2nd place – Daniel Portelli

3rd place – Keith Bugeja

Winners where presented with trophies and Ravenol products for their achievments.

The GMA said that Sunday’s event was supported by Ravenol Lubricants oil at Galea General Services Ltd.

Next up in the programme of racing is the fourth round of the Yamaha Gozo Motocross Championship 2019, on Sunday, the 20th of January at Ta’ Xhajma Motocross track, and races start at 1pm.
