The Bishop of Gozo Mgr Mario Grech, led a moment of prayer before the start of a religious pilgrimage of the Madonna Ta’ Pinu painting to mark the 400th anniversary of this work by the artist Amadeo Perugino.
The Gozo Diocese is commemorating a Marian Year, and the pilgrimage is one of the initiatives in the programme of celebrations.
The painting will visit Gozitan parishes, including the Gozo General Hospital, over the next two weeks, starting yesterday with Xaghra, with the aim of uniting everyone spiritually to Our Lady throughout the parish communities.
